A first-half double from Andy Eastaugh helped Wroxham on their way to victory over local rivals Dereham Town on Easter Monday.
Winger Gary Gilmore pounced for the killer third goal to all but the end the game as a contest in the 69th minute.
While this was an extremely efficient and professional Yachtsmen performance away to their local neighbours - you have to say Dereham were very poor on the day and were very lucky they were not beaten by a greater margin.
The Magpies could of been a goal down as early as the 8th minute when Ross Durrant’s inswinging corner was met superbly by Paul Cook, but his header landed against the base of the post.
Dereham simply couldn't contain the league leaders and it came as no surprise when good play by Cook allowed Eastaugh to fire home from within the six-yard box.
The woodwork then came to the Magpies rescue as Wroxham threatened to run riot.
Striker Ben Thompson’s excellent lob over goalkeeper Chris Horton landed against a post and the same player then hit the other post with a header, but the Yachtsmen were not to be denied.
Shuan Howes’ pin-point corner found a totally unmarked Eastaugh and the midfield warhorse thumped home a header to double his and Wroxham’s advantage after 33 minutes.
Ex-Wroxham striker Jordan Rocastle had the Magpies best chance of the game when he turned his marker to shoot low at the Wroxham goal, but Scott Howie was on hand to make a relatively comfortable save.
In the second half winger Gilmore drilled low past Horton to finally kill off a sorry looking Dereham outfit.
Wroxham boss David Batch said: “I felt that if we kept it as a football match and not a local derby we would win - and the players did that brilliantly.”
