Bank Holiday traffic meant The Yachtsmen didn’t arrive to the ground until ten minutes before the scheduled kick off time, with the start being pushed back by half an hour.
However, this less than ideal preparation didn’t affect the away side as they made a blistering start, Forshaw bagging two goals in the opening seven minutes to seize control.
His first came courtesy of a swift break from The Yachtsmen in the fourth minute, David Hinton finding space to dink the ball over the defence for Forshaw to run onto and finish simply.
Three minutes later it was 2-0, Forshaw again finding himself in a great position after some good work down the right from Jack Garrod to slot home.
Elliot Pride then made two superb saves in 60 seconds as the home side looked for a riposte, the first from a point blank Shaun Welford header, before Martin Dynan had a stinging shot from the resulting corner that Pride turned smartly over the bar.
From the corner, Wroxham broke down the other end and caught their opponents napping to make it 3-0, Remy Gordon bursting through to find Forshaw just inside the box for the former Sudbury man to find the net and complete his hat-trick.
The hosts gave themselves hope of a comeback with a sweet strike from Ian Daly with five minutes remaining of the half, firing in from 20 yards to make it 3-1 at the break.
The second half was a much cagier affair as Wroxham looked to close the game out, Garrod forcing Nick Taylor into a superb stop, before Dan Stubbs had a long range effort for the hosts that flew just wide.
Cray then made things nervy for Wroxham as they pulled a second back with ten minutes to go, Pat O’Connor firing high into the net after some indecisive defending from The Yachtsmen, but Stewart Larter’s men held out for the win to make it three wins on the bounce and send them to fourth in the table.
