After a fairly even and quiet start to the game, it was the Yachtswomen who created the first couple of chances. A cross from Cossey was spilled by the keeper, but the referee halted play for a foul by Birchall, then a free-kick from Rowland was tipped over the bar by the home keeper.
A quick break by the hosts was cut out by Horn covering behind Pasque before another attack was easily cleared by Prentice before a home attacker could get to the ball.
Wroxham had a golden chance to go in front on 15 minutes when a quick break involving Cossey and Birchall teed up Bullard who forced the keeper into a fine save before putting the rebound over the bar from close range.
Most of the chances were falling to the visitors with Birchall and Russell seeing efforts saved by the Luton keeper although Prentice in the Wroxham goal had to be alert to dive on a loose ball in the away penalty area.
The deadlock was finally broken after 31 minutes with Birchall winning possession and firing home across the keeper into the far corner of the goal.
Birchall almost doubled the lead 5 minutes later when Prentice’s long kick was not dealt with by Luton and the lob from the Wroxham striker just cleared the crossbar. Cossey had a shot deflected wide at the end of the half as the visitors went into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead.
The early pressure in the second half came from the hosts who equalised within 5 minutes of the restart. Although Prentice appeared to be blocked trying to claim a corner the away defence failed to cleared and a Luton player poked the ball home.
Wroxham pushed forward looking to regain the lead. Cossey had a dangerous cross deflected for a corner, a Russell shot saved before Bullard forced the home keeper into another good save.
With 13 minutes remaining the hosts took the lead. Dawson blocked a shot but the loose ball was forced over the line.
The visitors searched for an equaliser in the closing minutes but were unable to get many shots on target and at the death, Birchall was crowded out when about to pull the trigger, as the hosts took all three points in a closely fought game.
