Matt Halliday takes the helm at Wroxham

Wroxham FC are delighted to confirm the appointment of Matt Halliday as manager of the men’s first team.

The ex- Norwich City player spent six years in two spells as a player at the club and returned for the third time as Assistant Manager to Jordan Southgate in the 2023-24 season, having steered Sheringham to promotion to Step5.

Commenting on Matt’s appointment, Club Chair, James Blower said:
“Having conducted the recruitment process, following Jordan’s departure, I felt Matt was rather best choice to take the club to the next stage. He will build on the foundations we have built over the past few years but bring his own ideas and style to the team”

James continued: “I’m pleased that his management team will include Craig Parker, who has a wealth of experience and has beeb a very positive influence since he arrived over the summer”.

On his appointment, Matt said:
“I’m delighted to have accepted the position as manager of Wroxham. The club have been a big part of my football life and to be given the chance to build on the brilliant work of Jordan & James was too good an opportunity to pass up. I will of course put some of my stamp on the team but I have a great foundation with the players and management that are already here.”

“Goalkeeping Coach, Daz Plowman-Read and Sports Therapist , Becky Edge have agreed to stay and Craig Parker will agreed to become player/assistant manager. Parks knowledge of the game and leadership qualities both on and off the pitch will be invaluable.”

James concluded: “After a difficult start to the season, it is important that we get behind Matt, Craig, Daz & Becky with a big FA Trophy game this weekend. We have some crucial league fixtures over the next few weeks as we seek to move up the table.”
