Ahoy Alice!
Wroxham FC are delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old fullback Alice Parker to the Women’s Senior Team for the 21/22 season.
Alice joins the Yachtswomen having spent last season at Norwich City and the previous season at West Ham United.
Born in Norfolk, Alice came through the youth system at Norwich City in their Centre of Excellence programme before moving south in 2019 to play for West Ham’s U21 Academy. During her time with the Hammers Alice was picked to train with the first team on multiple occasions, expanding her football knowledge under the tutelage of Matt Beard.
Alice can play on the left or right and describes herself as an attacking fullback that likes to get high up the pitch and assist with crosses into the box. She also states that she’s a bubbly character and loves a big tackle!
Women’s Manager Rebecca Burton said: “Despite her age, Alice has a lot of experience; has played at a high level and has benefitted from being in an environment of the very highest level – training with professional footballers playing in the WSL. Her quality is undeniable, and she is already setting standards for the players around her, leading by example in the way she conducts herself both at training and games, and in the extra work she’s doing outside of our schedule.
“She had interest from multiple higher placed clubs this summer, so it’s a big compliment that a player of her calibre has joined us. The positive impact Alice will have to our team on and off the pitch is huge, and I’m delighted that she’s chosen to play her football at Trafford Park this season.”
Alice added: “I’m very excited to have signed for Wroxham and I can’t wait for the season to get started! The club have a great group of girls and I want to help the team compete for promotion. Ahoy!”
Alice will take squad number 2 for the 21/22 season.
